Yashoda's son is exceptionally lovable, mischievous and at the same time awe
inspiring. He is lovable even in his pranks, ever-guilty, yet redeemed.
In an oval frame, young Krishna looks ethereal as he views the mortal world.
His eyes shaped like lotus petals are topped by arched eyebrows; the small
mouth pursed, with a hint of a smile; the rounded face encompassed with the
curling mass of hair. He wears a uniquely designed head ornament, topped by
a peacock feather. In his delicate ears, Krishna ears earrings covering the
length of his neck. The numerous necklaces and strings, together with a
garland of flowers adorn his body. The artist has paid attention to minute
details of the jewellery - the pattern, the gems and the setting. Krishna
holds his finely crafted flute in one hand and a bunch of lotus flowers in
the other.
The halo around Krishna is painted in soft hues. The curling clouds also
worked in muted tones. Thus, the background reflect the ethereal quality of
the god himself.
